For the first two years following my diagnosis of Stage 3 CRC, I didn’t drink coffee (except for the occasional nasty hotel room cup of black coffee, while traveling). I was too busy drinking green tea and juicing all day long, so I didn’t see the sense of adding another beverage to my daily routine. And while there are beneficial compounds, polyphenols, and antioxidants in coffee, I felt that when coffee was put head to head with green tea, the well-documented healing properties of green tea far outweighed any benefits I could derive from one cup of coffee.
But after the “high risk” recurrence period of two years, I felt comfortable enough to welcome back an old friend. At that time my daily green tea had been condensed into a powerful healing morning tea blend, and I reduced my juice consumption to one glass of all green juice every morning. Since I was not willing to give up any of the benefits of all that goodness I had worked into my routine, I decided that I would make it a special occasion and have one cup of coffee every Saturday morning.
Now those who have seen my recipes and watched my videos know, I’m not a one or two ingredient kind of guy. I like to put as much beneficial properties into one cup, one bowl, one pot as possible. And my coffee would be no exception. But coffee is coffee, right? Yes it is (however, organic and single origin are the best options). So I decided to get creative with the creamer. Since I already had super powerful anti-cancer ingredients in the home, it was easy to create a blend that promoted hormonal balance, stem cell generation, parasite elimination and inflammation reduction. I also added additional ingredients to boost the mineral content.
It’s difficult to say if drinking this blend once a week has any impact on my overall health, but many of the ingredients are included in other dishes I eat throughout the week, so the cumulative healing effect can be maintained. Of course, if someone prefers coffee in the morning rather than tea, I think it would be difficult to find a combination that can provide this much for the body’s restorative abilities. As always this is a combination that can be altered to emphasize the individual’s needs for healing.
